Chris Power R.Ac. DTCM (dip) - Registered Acupuncturist
Chris began his career in Chinese Medicine in 1999 after graduating with a doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, B.C. He is a B.C. Registered Acupuncturist and is a member of the ATCMA of BC. He specializes in sports injury, chronic or acute pain, and women's health. Chris has also completed his Body Talk certification levels 1 & 2.
Chris has recently added Low Level Laser therapy to his practice and has already seen amazing results with his patients.
Chris has worked in both a clinic and spa environment and has worked closely with chiropractors, massage therapists, physios, naturopathic doctors & other healing practitioners to help his patients achieve lasting results. Through the combination of his acquired skills, extensive training, experience, and intuition, Chris' clients will experience a gentle and effective treatment.
He is passionate about health & wellness and is dedicated to assiting each and every one of his patients on their healing journey.
Dr. Chanel Smythe MSc, R.TCMP, ND - Registered Acupuncturist
Dr. Chanel Smythe was born and raised in Whistler, BC. She has been studying medicine and science for the past twelve years and is thrilled to bring her practice back to her hometown of Whistler and the mountains. Chanel has completed a Master’s of Science, a degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, and most recently a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Boucher Institute in New Westminster, BC.
Chanel completed her clinical rotations for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in China, at hospitals in both Shanghai and Chengdu. Following this she worked in rural Nepal for several months providing acupuncture and Chinese medicine to the remote and underserved community of Kogate and surrounding villages. As part of her naturopathic clinic training she completed externships at Empower Health Clinic in Vancouver, and Positive Living BC. Positive Living BC is a clinic for HIV positive and underserved populations of Vancouver BC.
Dr. Chanel has a general practice with focus on concussion and traumatic brain injury, women’s health/hormone imbalance, fatigue and burnout, digestive disturbances, autoimmune disease, nervous system regulation, pain management and sports performance.
Dr. Chanel is here to help you connect the dots with your health concerns and uncover the root cause of disease. She has obtained many tools and lenses with which to apply to your health disturbances, and will work with you to find what will best facilitate your journey to optimal health.
Treatment approaches are individually tailored and may include- diet and lifestyle modifications, acupuncture, botanical medicine (Western and Chinese approaches), nutraceuticals, injection therapies (IV, intramuscular nutrient injections and pain management injections), lab testing and pharmaceutical prescriptions.
Dr. Chanel holds certifications in Pharmaceutical Prescriptive Authority, IV therapy and Advanced Injection Therapies including neural and prolotherapy.
She has completed a variety of additional medical training’s, including a five-level series in clinical neurology via the Carrick Institute and six-level training in the Tan Lineage of Balance Method/System Acupuncture.
Dr. Chanel hold dual licenses as a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and a Naturopathic Doctor – she is licensed with both the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners of British Columbia (CTCMA) and The College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC).
When not practicing medicine some of Chanel’s other passions include skiing, trail running, hiking, swimming, biking, reading, travelling, dogs, food, coffee and connecting with friends and family
Jennifer Palmer R.Ac. - Registered Acupuncturist
Jennifer is a new resident of the Sea to Sky Corridor, having moved here in 2017 from Calgary, Alberta with her husband and two young boys. She had a thriving Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture practice in Calgary for over 15 years. Jennifer’s practice focused on, but was not limited to, fertility, stress, anxiety, and depression.
Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Science (Biological Science) degree at the University of Lethbridge and then went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Victoria, BC. She completed her program at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2001. Jennifer is licensed as a registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).
Post graduate studies in Fertility, Auricular Medicine, Acutronics (use of tuning forks on Acupuncture points), as well as other specialized areas of TCM, give Jennifer a broad knowledge base for assessment and treatment of her patients.
When not practicing Jennifer loves to spend time with her family, to ski, enjoy a good book and time with friends, practice yoga, and does her best to stay healthy, strong, and balanced.
Jennifer is grateful to be able to share her knowledge with others, to share in the wonderment of tapping into the body’s innate wisdom to heal, to be in balance. She is very much looking forward to starting a rich and meaningful practice here in Whistler.
